Omega Laboratories Presents Data on Hair Specimens for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Program

Omega Laboratories, Inc. is pleased to announce that it is assisting the Drug Testing Advisory Board (DTAB) with the evaluation of hair specimens for use in the Federal Workplace Drug Testing Program. Recent concerns and data have emerged which challenge the effectiveness of traditional urine-based testing. As a result, the DTAB assembled authorities from across the drugs of abuse testing industry, including Omega's Laboratory Director Dr. David Engelhart, at its July meeting in order to thoroughly explore the testing of hair specimens as a valuable and long-needed addition to the Federal Workplace Drug Testing Program.

Omega Laboratories Receives FDA 510(k) Clearance for Marijuana Metabolite (THCA) Drugs of Abuse Test Utilizing Hair and Publishes Lowest Limit of Detection

Omega has received 510(k) clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Marijuana Metabolite Test, which detects the use of marijuana through human hair analysis. The Omega 510(k) submissions were evaluated by the FDA at a much more stringent level than those submissions cleared over a decade ago.

Omega Laboratories, Inc. announced that it has become the first and only laboratory to receive 510(k) clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Extended Opiates Test that detects the use of Oxycodone and Hydrocodone through human hair analysis. The clearance also included the test for Codeine, Morphine and Heroin.
